Educated in the UK (Cheltenham Ladies College) I attended the University of London – Kings College/ Guy's Hospital Dental School. I worked in clinical dentistry in Switzerland, the UK, and the US.
My Pediatric Specialty is from the University of Rochester and I also took an AEGD specialty. I was Faculty and Outpatient Pediatric Clinic Director at the Eastman Institute For Oral Health - learning much from Dr. Berkowitz. In 2004 I was involved in creating a Multi-Disciplinary University Dental Practice.
I have been involved in oral health education for nurses, medical, and dental students. My passion is educating the public about the biochemistry of dental disease through seminars, blog posts, and online video.
My belief is that we must differentiate between symptoms and disease. Understanding the natural biochemistry of the mouth allows us to more effectively target caries and periodontal disease. I have two books - Kiss Your Dentist Goodbye and Mouth Care Comes Clean that share this oral biochemistry with the public.
I believe oral health is a vital contributor to general health. A decade ago I was a Founding Member of the American Academy For Oral Systemic Health (AAOSH) and I still champion for oral health to be better understood and valued.
