I have had a career in full time academics with a 10 year hiatus when I worked full-time in the dental industry. Worked for a dental materials manufacturer (ESPE - now part of 3M Dental), and Philips Oral Healthcare (Sonicare) where I was the chief dental officer. Learned a lot about dental materials, their development, and how to market them effectively. At Sonicare, learned about the consumer products business.
